ack, he does have a fundamental problem controlling his smugness, but I’ve (amazingly) come to really like him during this past season (five). he’s learning, finally.

I guess???? I want him to get better because I kind of think he and Blair work really well as friends (and maybe more????) but I. just. hate. him.

I wish there was someone in this show who was a decent person and didn’t have all these issues so they could befriend the rest of the kids and help them sort their shit out.

YES GOOD. THIS PLEASES ME. Serena is my favorite character (well on days when nate or jenny aren’t my favorite character but yeah). Like she’s just so heartbreaking and also SO AMAZING and she just, her story is so interesting to me

In the later seasons which I watched first, I didn’t like her that much because she was pretty awful to um… everyone. I always felt pretty bad for her though, just because she has gone through so much shit.

But I just watched the episode with the debutante ball and her grandmother and GOD. LIKE. cycles of abuse, much? serena’s grandmother was awful to lily, and i’m pretty sure she’s to blame for a lot of how lily behaves towards serena because obviously she didn’t have any other role model for how to be a model so she’s just… manipulating and abusing serena and eric in the same way.

I REALLY HATE DAN. But early on he was good for Serena because he grounds her, I think? like she doesn’t have any experience outside of how she’s been raised and she was coping with it all by developing a drinking and drug problem. SHE WAS SO UNHAPPY. i adore blair but she’s an awful friend, and serena doesn’t seem to have anyone outside of her, really? and then lily says that since dan showed up in serena’s life she’s stopped doing all that.

and she just has such faith in everyone to be good. she keeps trusting blair no matter how much awful shit she’s done, and she trusts her family and tries to see the best in them. and i think that extends to herself as well??? like she seems pretty insecure but she also KEEPS TRYING to do what she thinks is best. she clearly cares about blair, eric, dan, lily, nate and tries to do the best for them but like her personality seems to get in the way of that because she keeps fucking up. while having a hard time accepting that it’s her fault things went wrong because she tried so hard!!!

I can’t with season one nate. Like in the pilot when he’s all “don’t we have the right to be happy” it’s not a rhetorical question. HE REALLY WANTS TO KNOW. IT HAS JUST OCCURRED TO HIM. and omg yes blair, BAAABY, ugh her awful mom. And Serena!! BABY!
