At the Comics Stripped exhibit at the Museum of Sex! I quoted ths before, but have it in handy picture form!

I get the sentiment, but I feel like this quote was worded poorly. One might infer that the person is saying girls would only like a certain kind of comics, when in reality, girls’ interests in comics are just as varied as boys, no?

I’d interpret this as saying that comics are currently being written to appeal to men in a way that alienates women readers, so that the comics culture/writing/etc needs to change not necessarily to appeal specfically to them, but to stop actively alienating them. I want to read a comic about superheroes. I don’t want to read a comic about superheroes where the only female characters are treated as objects.
